In a major setback to former Indian Cricket captain Mohammad Azaruddin, his nomination paper was rejected by the Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) for the post of its President. This was rejected on the ground that his life-long expulsion was not revoked by the BCCI.
However, Azaruddin argued that the High Court had long back revoked the expulsion in 2012 itself. But the HCA returning officer argued that the BCCI is yet to revoke its expulsion.
