Delhi Police Commissioner aAlok Kumar Verm, a 1979 batch Indian Police Service officer, was appointed as the new director of Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). Though originally slated to retire on 31 July this year, Verma will get a fixed tenure of two years as the CBI chief.
